The new college semester is beginning and soon I will have lots of readers, since I am going to require my students to check this out! My thinking is that I will use this arena for all my classes so they can be exposed to what a Blog is and how it works and even I will learn about it as it progresses!

Hi there! I am waving at you from Germany. Ms Joan is an old high school friend whom I met in my "American year" a long time ago. We have kept contact ever since, and as she has found my blog (letters from Usedom), I have also found hers.
So let me tell you a bit about blogging. I have started it in August 2008, on recommendation of my African friend Val (blog "monkeys on the roof". Go have a look. It`s amazing).
It didn`t last long till readers found me. They commented, I looked up their blogs, and commented back. With some I exchanged e-mail addresses, one from England has even visited me. This has become so much FUN, and I can only advise you to dive head-on into this adventure. You can write about anything you choose, your interests, your favorite books, your ideas. Just consider that EVERYONE can read it, so do not give away too personal secrets or offend anyone. But you wouldn`t do that "in real life", either.
But what you get back is an incredible "widening" of your world. I have found blog pals in many states of the US, in Africa and India, in Australia and NZ. Every corner of the world can be connected to you, and vice versa.
So, my new blog pals, blog on!
